# funknetz
A headset station for the FM-Funknetz. It joins one reflector talk group and lets the operator listen and speak.
## Language
**FM-Funknetz**:
The German amateur network of linked analog FM stations that this application joins.
_Avoid_: using that name for this application
**Station**:
This application’s presence on a reflector, named by a callsign. It has no radio of its own.
_Avoid_: node, client, channel, hotspot
**Reflector**:
The conference that forwards audio among stations that have joined the same talk group. One talk group has at most one talker.
_Avoid_: server, bridge
**Talk group**:
A numbered audio room on the reflector. The station joins one talk group for the whole run.
_Avoid_: channel, room
**Talker**:
The station currently sending audio on a talk group.
_Avoid_: transmitter
**Callsign**:
The uppercase amateur call sign that names this station on the reflector.
_Avoid_: a lowercase spelling, username, node id
**Auth key**:
The secret the network issues for this station’s callsign, used to prove identity to the reflector.
_Avoid_: certificate, a password sent in the clear
**Push-to-talk**:
The operator holding the control that makes this station the talker. Releasing it returns the station to listening.
_Avoid_: voice-operated transmit, a mute toggle

# Wails for the station window
funknetz must ship as a Mac app package and stay a small Go program. The window is Wails v2 with plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. A native Go toolkit would avoid the webview; we gave that up so `wails build` produces `funknetz.app` from this tree. Version 1 is an unsigned local package. Notarization is a later decision.

# Hand-edited config in the home directory
The operator edits connection settings by hand. There is no settings window in version 1. The file is `~/.funknetz.json`, created mode 0600 when missing. Application Support would match other Mac apps and would be a worse place to open in an editor. That path is part of the station's contract; moving it later strands existing files.
